TCO is seeking a talented Graphic Designer who can deliver inspiring ideas and stunning designs across online and offline media.

Our heritage is print, and a passion for beautiful printed design that elevates inspiring content is a must, coupled with an interest and experience across digital publishing and opportunities beyond paper.

The applicant must be able to generate multiple premium aesthetics, be competent across print and digital, and able to work to deadline. Above all, an enquiring mind, raw creative talent, passion and the ability to work within a team are key.


  • Skill at producing style sheets, editorial layouts, typesetting and image editing for print.
  • Work closely with editors, Design Director to create and maintain the overall look and feel of projects, in keeping with their established aesthetic.
  • Manage design process from conception through to execution.
  • Manage and contribute to the design of the owned and operated magazines (Huck and LWLies), and all the photos, illustrations, and graphics that appear in them.
  • Assist with branding and marketing design requirements.
  • Work closely with editorial to manage the art and photo department budget.
  • Coordinate with the production and editorial departments to make sure deadlines are met.
  • Make sure owned and operated brands are visually consistent across platforms.
  • Assist with pitches, presentations and other documents.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by matching the original brief to the concept(s) presented. Producing innovative solutions to redefine a brief where appropriate.
  • Manage fonts, images and other design assets.
  • Work on layouts and artwork designs ready for print or online.
  • Work well as part of a team to contribute ideas and design artwork for other projects.
  • Stay up to date with the latest design trends, and ensure TCO’s output sits at the cutting edge of design.


  • Degree level or comparable qualification in art, graphic design or similar field essential.
  • Experienced across all aspects of design with proven commercial and/or editorial experience in a similar role.
  • Agency or publishing experience preferable.
  • Exceptional creative flair and a talent for design.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An understanding of the latest trends and your role within a commercial environment.
  • Professional approach to timekeeping, costs and deadlines.
  • Understanding of print processes.
  • Illustration skills are a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Excellence in using Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
