Has your solid experience gained working in a creative role within an internal or external agency given you good knowledge of graphic design, typography, branding and digital? Then join Shelter as a Creative Lead and you could soon be playing a vital role that will touch all areas of the business and define how we communicate, both visually and in terms of our tone of voice, for years to come.

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change — with individuals, in communities, across society – and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

About the role:

This is a really exciting time to join us as we’re transitioning from an old to new strategy. Our Creative and Marketing teams are working together to translate that new strategy into our brand story and wider communications. Your challenge? To lead on an array of major projects from concept through to production, deliver highly creative work backed up with strong strategic thinking and present it clearly and convincingly to multiple stakeholders, often up to senior level. We'll also rely on you to line manage and develop our designers, help the Creative Director improve our creative processes, liaise with external agencies and lots more besides.

About you:

A rare opportunity to work as part of a team tasked with developing and implementing a new brand identity, it calls for exceptional integrated concept development skills. You’ll also need proven experience of working to brief, understanding different audience needs and applying this knowledge to creative solutions. The ability to format and supply graphics and illustration files (JPEG, GIF, PDF, EPS, etc.) for online and external suppliers is essential too. And, when it comes to expertise in using Adobe Indesign, proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Office and knowledge of both PC and Mac platforms, again, we’ll count on you.

Benefits:

We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, childcare vouchers, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.

About us:

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.

Safeguarding is everyone’s business. Shelter is committed to protecting the health, wellbeing and human rights of those we support, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. All our staff will be expected to observe professional standards of behaviour and conduct their work in line with our Safeguarding Policies.

At Shelter, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. We are facing diverse problems, so need diverse people to tackle them.

Shelter does not accept unsolicited CVs from external recruitment agencies nor accept the fees associated with them.
