We’re Red Apple Digital.

We’re a multi-disciplined, independent, award-winning digital agency operating as the creative & technical link between media agencies, platforms and brands. We deal with a wide range of projects every day, such as campaign microsites, interactive Spotify experiences, rich media units and data driven campaigns.

Over the last few years, we’ve worked with an amazing range of clients from the US, UK and Europe such as Spotify (for whom we are proudly a Preferred Partner), Coca-cola, Netflix, BBC and O2 to name just a few.

There’s about 30 of us spread across two locations in London and New York and that number just keeps on growing. We’ve done a lot of things that we’re really proud of but we’re not stopping there, so we’re now looking for a Junior Designer to join our team

Our Culture

The design team is an integral part of the business and you’ll gradually get the opportunity to work on our global campaigns as your skills and responsibilities develop. Tasked with a range of digital projects, you will work closely with the creative, development and client service teams.

You will get a hand in visual design and UX/UI as well - everything from branding work to interaction/functionality design, mobile-first and responsive design.

You will need to be comfortable working proactively, within a team and as an individual. Your role is going to be very hands-on and requires a great eye for digital design and an understanding of current trends in order to deliver great work.

You need to be someone who understands that good design isn’t just about making things look great, it’s also about asking the right questions.

Key Responsibilities

-Designing, editing & exporting banners
-Designing mockups of campaign microsites
-Working closely with design, development and client service teams on each project
-Creating website / microsite designs & layouts
-Working with front-end developers to ensure designs are functional
-Empathise with users when creating wireframes & user flows
-Be knowledgeable and aware of new digital trends
-Create animations and demonstrate UI interactions

Essential Requirements

Experience

-1-2 years design experience in a digital agency
-At least 1 year of experience in designing for web & basic HTML and CSS to help realise ideas as compliant web pages
-Must be eligible to work in the UK

Design fundamentals

-Ability to interpret client briefs and bring them to life
-Able to conduct online research to inform a creative route
-A natural flair for digital design, an understanding of layout and aesthetic coherence
-Experience in user interface design
-Able to adhere to strict brand guidelines
-Solid understanding of responsive design principles
-An understanding of the fundamentals of UX
-Vector / icon design skills

Software expertise

-Strong skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketch
-Animation / After Effects experience

Attributes

-Resourceful and independent – can work to deadlines and standards with minimum supervision
-Good written and verbal communication skills
Proactive and motivated
-Comfortable with taking feedback - and constantly looking to improve
