About us
Studio Moross is a 10+ person design studio based in Stockwell, South London. We work predominantly in music, TV, and live, with a strong focus on branding and art direction. We use a non-hierarchical approach to project assignments, and support people in creating a job role that works for them and meets their interests and aspirations. There is often emerging talent working as part of the team, being nurtured through internships, work experience and mentorship programs. Our open and fair office culture is an imperative part of the fabric that makes up Studio Moross.

The well-being of our staff is just as important to us as the work we produce. We recognise that the creative industry is notorious for being a stressful environment with long, unsociable hours - often resulting in an unhealthy office culture. So we implement shorter more efficient working days, leading to increased productivity and an all-around happier team. Any work outside of regular office hours is paid, in addition to the base salary.

Job Role
We hope to find someone with 3+ years of experience as a designer either as a freelancer or in a studio/company - we are not concerned with titles. Working in a small studio means the role is versatile. We hope to find someone who has experience leading as well as following as due to the way we work these roles often switch. We take pride in our team members having ownership of their work and developing their own relationships with colleagues, clients and suppliers.

What We Do

Art Direction
All our team take part in the art direction on projects. Whether it's developing mood boards for a photoshoot or thinking of wider campaign themes. Kate currently leads the studio as an art director on most projects, but there are plenty of opportunities for this hire to develop their skills as an art director, to direct projects and bring their ideas to life.

If you are an aspiring art director this could be an opportunity for you to step up into that position in your time at Studio Moross as it is a role we are looking to develop.

Branding + Campaign Design
This is a large proportion of what we do - designing or branding artists, events, and festivals. This involves smaller budgets but a huge range of projects, clients and styles. We develop campaigns around albums which incorporate many outputs and often go beyond design into animation, music videos and live. Our video and design team work closely on projects that cross this boundary.

Broadcast Design
Designing logos, titles, and identities for TV shows such as music award shows, or talent shows. Lots of this work is carried out for our American clients from the UK office and is done in tandem with our video team.

Clients Include: Spice Girls, Jade Bird, Disclosure, Sam Smith, All Points East, Kerb, MTV, Nike, Nickelodeon, Uniqlo, Billie Eilish, BFI.

How We Work
We work quickly and often manage multiple projects at once so you will need to be comfortable multitasking. At Studio Moross our projects have shorter faster lead times so we often see projects through from start to finish.

Our working process is collaborative and we often work as a team to complete projects. With TV and Music clients our turn arounds are often quick but give us a lot of freedom in our work.

What We Don’t Do!
We don’t do a lot of print work - most of the things we make end up on the internet, so an extensive knowledge in print is not necessary. We turn around work quickly - so we don’t get time to be super precious, the plus side to that is you will see work out in the world and so will your peers, and that it is a very rewarding part of the job. We don’t work with many big corporate brands, so we don’t get weighed down with mammoth projects. This does mean that we are sometimes limited by our budgets, and don’t have the luxury of lots of research and development - our ideation is quick and relies on the confidence and creativity of our team members.

The main Studio Moross office and restrooms are located on the ground floor with single step. We have an access ramp that can be fitted to the step. The doorways are 90cm wide. Unfortunately the building does not have a wheelchair accessible restroom. All our restrooms are gender neutral.
