Role overview:

The Senior Designer is responsible for delivering excellence in design and creative content origination and production. You will be the first port of call for the design team to funnel creative briefs between clients, client teams and the Studio. You work with client teams across the business to develop bold and brave content in line with our creative vision. You also understand what makes great content and how to leverage digital platforms to deliver this. You roll up your sleeves to not only manage but also to originate. You will be the internal and external face of design for the agency and driven by a combination of growth, innovation and creativity.

Working with:

Internal: Creative director, digital team, client teams, marketing services, leadership team
External: Client marketing and communications teams; external creative services

Responsible for:

· Refining 3MZ’s design process and communicating this across the business

· Raising the profile of creative design, content and production within the agency

· Provide senior client and internal design counsel from briefing to delivery – you will also be required to be ‘hands on’ – originating and pitching creative content and design ideas

· Train 3MZ teams in creative content and design and expand their knowledge of what is possible to ensure our ideas are brought to life in the most original and unconventional ways

· Involvement in the new business process – ensure the way we market ourselves through our credentials, case studies and website are fresh and on brand

· Work with the Managing Director and Creative Director and Digital/Innovation Director to move the business forward by growing the creative design, content and production

· Work with the CD to ensure we work with the best external creative content and production individuals and companies

· Managing creative content and design projects from briefing to completion – taking client briefs, consolidating client needs, assigning designers to a project, working with client leads/CD, managing outputs and ensuring deadlines are met. No matter what.

· Creating and implementing workflow and project management processes to make for a smooth, efficient creative content and design project lifecycle

· Reviewing daily resource and workload schedules and booking freelancers when it gets busy (freelancers are subject to sign off by the Finance Director and Managing Director).

· Creating estimates for studio time, video/animation production, post production, printing and print management

· Keeping everyone up to date on creative content and design projects status – stakeholders, clients and the team

· Quality control – does the design adhere to the client brief and our fearless creative culture? A must.

· Team development and performance – line manage designers in the Studio and oversee their training and annual leave requests

· Managing production of creative outputs e.g. social/digital content, film/video/animation content; print materials; photography on existing and potential clients

· Working effectively with the wider agency and client teams.

Skills and experience necessary for this role:

Experience of working in an agency or in-house design studio, with a proven design and content production track record. Superb communication skills, excellent organisational skills, advanced knowledge of studio software (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Final Cut), proven leadership skills and ability to meet deadlines in a stressful environment, whilst motivating a team with a wide variety of design and creative content skill sets. He/she must also be able a proven creative thinker, have meticulous attention to detail and possess problem-solving and commercial skills.
