Job Description

About GoodLove

GoodLove is a London-based creative brand consultancy, working closely with tech founders and CEOs to build brands worth believing in for companies that want to shape the future. From organisations driving diversity in tech to a banking service designed specifically for migrant workers; from lab-made dairy-free cheese to improving employee wellbeing in the workplace.

Founded just over 3 years ago, we're already picking up awards and developing an enviable roster of scale-up clients who not only run exceptional businesses but are a pleasure to work with. With success comes the need to bring in more exceptional talent: and that’s where you come in.

The Role

We’re on the hunt for an ambitious senior brand designer to play a leading role in GoodLove’s creative output. A proactive individual, who understands the power of brand, thinks strategically and is passionate about design.

For a talented designer willing to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in, it’s an amazing opportunity to be an integral part of an ambitious tight knit team as we embark on the next part of our adventure.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary role will be to translate the strategic brand stories we create into distinctive and compelling visual identity systems that can flex across a breadth of collateral.

In practise this means:

  • Getting involved in the strategic part of the process
  • Building a robust understanding of the brief and our clients’ objectives
  • Bringing energy and ideas that get us beyond the obvious
  • Creative exploration of fresh ways to bring a strategy to life and connect with an audience at an emotional level
  • Collaborating and directing 3rd parties (illustrators, copywriters, animators etc.)
  • Building rapport with clients to guide them through the process and sell in our ideas
  • Taking onboard feedback to develop initial ideas into flexible and considered design systems

What we’re looking for

5+ years’ work experience and a portfolio that demonstrates:

  • A focus on creating strategically grounded, idea led brand identities
  • The creative ambition to get beyond the obvious answer
  • Technical ability and a sharp design eye for colour, type, imagery and motion
  • The practical awareness to ensure the creative output is effective and implementable
  • The confidence to explain your work and sell your ideas to others
  • The professionalism to be trusted with important client relationships
  • The openness to seek & give constructive criticism
  • The initiative and drive to want to step up and take responsibility
  • The low ego to embrace the team and prioritise delivering value for the client

Weapons of choice

  • Pro Level - Figma / Illustrator / Photoshop
  • Nice to haves - Motion graphics / 3d skills

What you’ll get from us:

  • £45-50K/year DOE
  • Pension contributions
  • 20 days holiday + Christmas studio closure (5 days)
  • 2 duvet days/yr
  • The opportunity to work across a broad variety of exciting creative briefs
  • The creative freedom to explore and challenge yourself as a designer
  • Our commitment to helping you grow as a designer through regular reviews and coaching
  • A working environment/culture that:
  • is a relaxed and enjoyable place to come every day, whether that’s virtually or 3 days a week in our studio on Shoreditch High Street
  • values your opinions and encourages you to voice them
  • understands that you are a person not a machine

Eligibility

Please ensure that you meet our eligibility criteria before applying.

  • You must be legally eligible to work in the UK.
  • You should be able to come into the office 3 days a week (we are based on Shoreditch High St, London)
  • You should be able to work from home the remaining days of the week
