The mission for the role:
As the Art Director, you will take the helm in managing the conceptualisation and production of content shoots at Popsa. Your expertise will ensure that each shoot is meticulously planned and executed, maintaining the highest quality standards whilst adhering to allocated budgets. You will build comprehensive creative briefs that support various projects, working closely with Acquisition, Retention and Product teams, providing clear direction alongside the Creative Director.
The Art Director will work closely with the whole Marketing team and commission a talented pool of motion designers, CGI artists, and retouchers, to bring captivating content to life. Leveraging your network of stylists, photographers, and set designers, you will assemble the perfect teams to execute our vision. You will also create compelling concepts and presentations, showcasing innovative ways to showcase Popsa's digital and physical products, standing out from the market and delighting our customers. You will have a video first approach to content, complemented by a solid understanding of photography, both crucial in driving the visual storytelling of our brand.
Your role will involve defining and refining the visual style guide for the brand, ensuring consistency and excellence across all visual outputs. You'll manage and expand our photo and video stock, curating beautiful photobooks for content shoots, alongside reviewing and enhancing content creator photobooks to maintain a high standard across all of our content.
Your responsibilities
- Managing content shoots for Popsa, working closely with the Video, Design and Social teams.
- Manage Popsa’s stock photography and videos.
- Present and review ideas and assets to key stakeholders.
- Managing and elevating the creation of our products for content shoots.
- Briefing and managing freelancers for a variety of content.
- Gate keeps the brand guidelines and identity.
- Supporting key seasonal concepting.
What you bring to the team
You have
- Experience working with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop).
- Experience concepting, producing and managing content shoots.
- A strong portfolio of Video content for social and editorial content.
- Experience with both small and large shoot teams.
- A network of stylists, photographers, set designers and creatives.
- You are an Innovator with experience in ideation and pushing briefs.
- Customer mindset - understand and champion the customer.
- Data oriented with a scientific awareness of performance.
- Experience working In-house or agency.
- Commissioning creative briefs with contractors.

- Producing shoots in Europe or the USA.
- Worked with multi language / localising content globally.
- What success looks like in your first 6 months
- Build a portfolio of beautifully designed Photobooks for use in our content.
- Audited, established and documented a visual style guide for content shoots.
- Produced and art directed content shoots for key projects.
- Audited, scaled and organised our stock imagery database.
- Worked with photographers to elevate our content shoots.
- Supported the content delivery for our website relaunch.
- Built a suite of best in class image content to roll out across our marketing content.
