About us
www.studiomoross.com
Studio Moross is an 11+ person design studio based in Shoreditch, East London. The current team is 2 Motion Designers, 3 Graphic Designers, 3 Project Managers, a Creative Director, Studio manager and Personal Assistant. We work predominantly in music, gaming, TV, and live, with a strong focus on branding and art direction.
The well-being of our staff is just as important to us as the work we produce. We recognise that the creative industry is notorious for being a stressful environment with long, unsociable hours – often resulting in unhealthy office culture. So we implement more efficient working days, leading to increased productivity and an all-around happier team. Any work outside of regular office hours is paid, in addition to the base salary.
We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you are excited about this role but do not meet every qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply.
Job Role
We are looking for an experienced Art Director or Senior Designer looking to make the jump to Creative Director. We hope to find someone with 6 or more years experience, either permanent or freelance within the creative industries. You will need to have experience that spans design and moving images, as our projects often overlap in these areas. It would be a bonus if you have a network of freelancers and creatives that you enjoy collaborating with.
This role will suit someone that is able to think conceptually and clearly communicate ideas to clients. You will need to have strong image making skills, and the ability to come up with treatments for photography and moving image projects. We are looking for someone confident in their creative decision making, and comfortable having the buck stop with them.
You will work closely with our Creative Director, helping to shape briefs and guide teams. Providing feedback and creative direction across multiple projects simultaneously, you will need to be able to work quickly and come up with ideas and treatments, often working to short deadlines.
You will primarily be working on branding projects, music campaigns and videos, title sequences, broadcast design and live visuals. Seeing a project from start to finish, and then published on TV or on a stage is a huge part of the job and you will be supported by a collaborative team to execute these projects.
Software
Excellent skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledge of basic motion software such as After Effects and Cinema 4D would be useful. We often work in Google Slides for presentations.
Tasks
Collaborate with the Creative Director + Design and Motion teams
Good understanding of both design and motion, able to easily reference both

Creating concepts and treatments for live visuals for music shows
Art direction for photo and video shoots
Provide retouching notes
Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration and respect across the whole team, actively sharing interesting and thoughtful news and references
Challenge briefs and feedback where appropriate, in a constructive way
Leading client calls, confidently pitching ideas and solutions and responding to feedback
Leading the internal team and our extended team of freelancers giving feedback, delegating and contributing to all projects
Build comprehensive creative briefs for internal and freelance teams, providing clear direction alongside the Creative Director

How We Work
We work quickly and often manage multiple projects at once so you will need to be comfortable multitasking. At Studio Moross our projects have shorter, faster lead times so we often see projects through from start to finish. Our working process is collaborative and we often work as a team to complete projects. With TV, Music and gaming clients our turn-arounds are often quick but give us a lot of creative freedom in our work.
What We Don’t Do!
We don’t work with many big corporate brands, so we don’t get weighed down with mammoth projects. This does mean that we are sometimes limited by our budgets, and don’t have the luxury of lots of research and development – our ideation is quick and relies on the confidence and creativity of our team members. We turn around work quickly – so we don’t get time to be super precious, the plus side to that is you will see work out in the world and so will your peers, and that is a very rewarding part of the job. With that said, we are meticulous and ensure excellent attention to detail in all our work.
Diversity & Inclusion
Studio Moross is a queer and trans led company. As a team we work hard to be a place that celebrates and champions people’s individuality, where opportunities for development and progress are available to all and everyone’s talents can be utilized and celebrated.
We aim to create a welcoming place, with an atmosphere of friendship for all people, ensuring we respect, support and care for each other and the people we work with.
We want to challenge all forms of oppression including those based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, creed, gender expression, gender reassignment, sex, class, sexuality, learning ability, physical impairment, mental illness, neurodiversity, HIV status, age, occupation, income, wealth, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and parenthood, and unrelated criminal conviction.
We are committed to providing equal opportunities in employment. In addition to this we aim to design our activities, services, and decision-making processes specifically to encourage and support participation from people who face a disadvantage in society.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to accommodate you in the recruitment or interview process.
Accessibility
Studio Moross is located on the ground floor. Directly from the pavement there are four steps up to the front door, and from the rear courtyard entrance there are concrete access ramps leading to the back doors. There is one step down into the studio space, with a collapsible metal ramp. Unfortunately, we do not have an accessible restroom, but it has a wide-set door to improve access. All our restrooms are gender neutral. Our detailed Accessibility Plan is available to read here.
