Motion Designer

What you’ll be doing...

The Motion Designer will be responsible for the day to day concepting, production and execution of all moving content working closely with our Creative Director Alex Brownsell and in house Creative team. The content creation will be anything from motion graphics and animated infographics, shooting and editing live capture through to AR and VR projects. You will lead the way in the Motion department and bring fresh new ideas into the team, with your finger on the pulse of motion creativity at all times! This is also an opportunity to grow your career with Bleach, managing and mentoring a junior member of the team.

The meteoric rise of hair brand Bleach London is best described by Time Out as  “The grungy salon that pioneered the dip-dye, then conquered the globe.” The female-led, boundary-pushing business was launched by Alex Brownsell and Sam Campbell in 2010 as the world’s first salon focused on colour. 

With a closely knit family of international premises, ever-expanding vegan product range and intuitive digital salon services, Brownsell and Campbell have reimagined the way people approach their hair. They’re on a mission to make Bleach’s expertise accessible to all, so anyone can express themselves through their hair colour affordably and informatively.   

Carried in UK retailers including Boots, Superdrug, Cult Beauty and ASOS, Bleach London opened a LA Based Salon in 2021 and has a significant US National Retailer launch planned for 2022. The coveted Bleach brand, regularly featured in Vogue, Dazed, i-D and more, paired with its pioneering approach, marks a new era in digital beauty and at-home hair dyeing. 

We’re looking for…

• Someone really passionate about all things motion content creation! An experimental and curious soul with a finger on the pulse of upcoming platforms, programs, talent and techniques!
• Someone to work creatively and technically to create high execution moving content across a range of media for digital to physical platforms.
• An individual keen to learn new areas and push the boundaries of Bleach London’s creative e.g. AR and VR.
• Someone able to edit and grade footage from a range of video formats.
• An excellent understanding of video specs and formats for global roll out.
• Someone to contribute new ideas and advise on the possible development and execution of those ideas within a moving image context (and beyond!)
• Shooting and lighting skils, able to shoot product, on model content, interviews in-house as well as BTS on shoots.
• Some one who can capacitate working remotely when required for shoots and international events.
• An individual with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines.
• An individual that enjoys collaboration, with internal teams and with external production houses on larger scale projects.
• Ability to mentor or manage junior members of the team and be an expert in your field.

The must have experience...

• With all aspects of video production and execution
• With Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily After Effects, Photoshop and Premiere)
• With Cinema 4D would be beneficial.
• Working on AR/VR projects preferable.
• In strong communication skills, both verbal & written.
• Organising, prioritising and problem-solving.
• Working in teams as well as independently.
• Identifying and working with current trends as well as Film, Music Videos, Art and Fashion.
• Working for a film production or post production house, beauty/ retail/ fashion brand, or ad agency is a plus.
• Willingness to learn, grow within the company and mould the role into their own.Pushing boundaries and trying new things, open to new ideas and forever willing to adapt and evolve.
