Folio is one of the world’s longest established illustration agencies. It represents a diverse range of world-class illustrators and works with clients of all levels, around the world.

We are a small, close team working to help our illustrators manage their workflow and develop their careers. We are very proud of the relationships we have with our artists and our goal is to find an applicant with the right skills, a desire to learn and a shared passion for our values.

We are looking for an illustration agent (not someone to work as an illustrator) who will liaise with clients and our illustrators to oversee client commissions.

Role requirements

• Handling incoming work enquiries efficiently and actively seeking out new opportunities for our artists
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and confident dealing with a variety of personalities in clients and creatives alike
• Building relationships with both artists and clients, negotiating the needs of both sides
• Experience with Adobe design software, spreadsheets and putting together pitch decks / presentations
• Confident working on a Mac
• Effective organisation of projects and personal time management
• Quoting and negotiating project fees
• An understanding of art licensing and copyright
• Various administrative tasks, including regular updates to artist’s portfolios on our website and other platforms
• Organising invoices and updating any required vendor protocols, discretion when handling confidential information
• Attention to detail, with an ability to review and negotiate contracts, including both terms and fees
• Contributing to Folio’s social media output and direct marketing

We are looking for

• An independent, proactive and motivated candidate
• A candidate with an interest in the industry, and an eye for great work
• Good knowledge of the illustration industry and passionate about the creative scene
• Someone with the ambition to develop their own skills and bring new ideas to the table
• Experience within the industry is strongly preferred but not essential
• Someone highly organised, that can handle a high volume of work effectively but who will ask for help when it is needed
• Someone who can work comfortably in an informal professional environment
• Someone that takes pride in their work and can remain calm under pressure
• Experience and knowledge of animation production would be beneficial

Hours & location

Working hours are 09:30 – 18:00. We do need the flexibility to accommodate our international clients but we share these out-of-hours responsibilities equally.

This is a remote working position, but the applicant must be willing to travel to London and other major cities for meetings when required.

This is a full-time position.

Holiday

28 days paid leave per annum.

Equipment & Software

A Mac computer will be provided with the necessary software for the role. You are expected to take good care of any equipment provided.
