CREATIVE LEAD (Art Director/Designer)
Job Description
Far & Away is a direct to consumer brand looking to rebuild the connection between makers and users by sharing the stories and faces behind the products in our homes. We combine modern design and ethical production with refined artisanal craftsmanship techniques to bring you premium quality goods from around the world.
Think heritage shopping for the millennial generation.
Key Responsibilities:
Gatekeeper of our brand’s visual identity across all customer touch points including website, packaging, social media, photography, videography & product design.
Strong understanding of our brand ethos & what makes us unique to our customers.
Source, manage & collaborate with external digital designers, freelance photographers, videographers, copywriters, web & product designers. (Bonus points if you fit any of these roles already).
Be the creative mastermind and take full ownership of building a world class consumer brand for a new generation. (Think Warby Parker, Everlane, Away Luggage and so on)
Your Skills & Experience:
3+ years of experience in a visual design or art direction role.
You have the ability to develop captivating and coherent visual brand identities.
You are an expert at styling sets for photo and video shoots.
You can create with the latest design tools such as Canva, etc.
You monitor the latest design trends & have a solid understanding of the DTC brand landscape.
You are both an ideator & executer.
You are an ambitious self starter who can work with limited instructions.
You understand that design is subjective but good design is quantifiable.
Your Instagram game is on point.
Nice to haves:
Expertise in digital design & illustration.
Photography & Videography skills (or just a pro with the latest iPhone ;) )
Basic video editing and/or animation skills
UX/UI Design skills
Physical product design skills
Copywriting skills in any language
