You’ll be hands-on with work on our flagship products, the magazine and the app, as well as considerations for the website, the espresso app, newsletters and social media channels.

The role does involve commissioning artwork, but for those without this prior experience the team in general and the Creative Director have successfully mentored this aspect many times in the past. There is an opportunity to create in-house illustrations as well.

You should also demonstrate a keenness to learn how to get the most from a modern editorial production system. Recognise how the content requirements change from the printed page to our digital channels. Learning how to use our efficient processes to achieve our tight deadlines. We will be looking for someone with a strong interest in design, excellent communication skills, an attention to detail, operational efficiency with a healthy respect for deadlines.

If you are looking for a role where you can learn, experiment and work with a team of dedicated professionals. If you are eager to help shape and improve The Economist experience for readers, then we’d like to hear from you.
