Social media designer & manager
Job Description
Do you like designing content for the small screen and then sharing it with the world? If yes, then this could be the role for you. We are looking for a designer who can design, post and manage social content for us and our clients.
Before we get into the specifics, let me tell you a bit about what we do and who we work with.
Grid Studios is a production company and photography studio based in Old Street, London. The production side has been running for nearly six years and is best known for creating social content for well-known brands such as Wella and Lucozade. While we still create content across various sectors, we specialise in hair and beauty, with professional haircare being where we have made a real name for ourselves. We love making hair content so much that we have actually built a studio specifically designed to capture this content perfectly. Our studio has been open for around six weeks and is industry-first with regard to how it is set up. We have six styling stations, a backwash you can get cameras around and over 1000sqft of shoot space. Everything is lit by our custom-designed lighting system, which is perfectly colour-balanced no matter where you are in the space.
Our mission is to make high-end content creation accessible to everyone. This is reflected in our pricing structure and how our space is set up. It is as much for individual stylists as it is for the brands we work with. We just want to make great content.
Your role will be twofold. First, you will work with us to promote the production company and studio, making sure people understand our offering. Then, you will work alongside us on our existing clients and any new ones we bring in.
Your objectives
- Grow our social channels to build our hairdressing community.
- Increase ROI on our existing channels (Instagram and TikTok) and explore opportunities for growth on others.
- Help us win new clients.
- Build out our social offering so we can offer it as a service.
- Lead the design art direction for the company.
Your responsibilities
The role will grow and develop as you do. We want you to enjoy your work and find it rewarding. Below is a list of responsibilities that will be expected at the start.
- Content creation: You will be responsible for designing the content we post. You will have access to photographers and videographers to help create things you need and everything the studio offers. We have an amazing space to shoot in, so we should be creating great work all of the time.
- Strategy and creative: You will work alongside our team to build our social strategies and the creative ideas that bring the strategy to life.
- Non-social design work: Our clients often ask us to assist with design tasks such as POS and brochures, landing pages and branding. There will be plenty of non-social design work to get stuck into as well.
- Posting and organic social media management: Once the content is created, you will be responsible for managing and posting it. This will include creating a posting schedule, copywriting, and keeping up with the latest trends. We post across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Nice to haves
