Job Description

We are a one-of-a-kind hybrid production company and artist management agency with bases in the UK, US, and Europe. Our hand-picked roster houses some of the world's finest talent.

We are looking for an Artist Agent to join our London team, to work alongside our roster of illustrators and visual artists. At the core of this role is a drive to find new business opportunities that support and sustain our artists careers. You will forge relationships and find opportunities across our extensive network of advertising agencies / design studios / creative agencies and brands in the UK.

This is an exciting position, in a growing company that cares about the impact we have on people, society, and the environment. We’re committed to being a voice for change and a force for good, currently on the journey to becoming a B-Corp. We hold partnerships that align with our B-Corp ambition and we are part of the collective Agents for Change that is committed to challenging barriers to entry into the creative industry for illustrators.

Above all to find success in this role, you will have a passion for all things creative and to want to see projects come to fruition that not only support our artists income levels but are the right kind of work that aligns with their creative ambitions. You will have a restless energy and hunger for new business and will be continually working to unearth opportunities within your network of contacts, that you’ll be relentlessly growing and nurturing. Being an Agent is a challenging role and effective time management will always be your friend as you navigate a mix of demands at speed, including handling incoming enquiries, preparing for & holding client meetings, negotiating estimates & contracts, growing relationships with our Artists, all whilst prioritizing new business outreach.

The ideal person will have:

  • A hunger and talent for making connections and nurturing relationships with a wide network of people, plus a passion that hunts down paid opportunities of a high calibre for our roster.
  • A tenacity to follow up on leads for meetings, work opportunities and ways to get in front of the right people.
  • Understand the commercial art landscape here in the UK and be able to speak confidently about the use of illustration and lettering across all mediums: print, digital, advertising campaigns, etc to a variety of clients and projects; big and small.
  • Be self-motivated, down to earth and have an ability to develop trusted relationships with both artists and clients alike.
  • Have 2+ years of industry experience – whether that be as an Agent, within a creative agency or a previous position with strong transferable skills.
  • A network of past UK-based clients is a plus.

The role will require:

  • Preparing budgets for illustration commissions, negotiating rates and overages when needed.
  • Proposing solutions to client enquiries, that fit both the creative and production requirements of each individual brief.
  • Liaising with our project management, Artists, and clients to set expectations upfront on a project to ensure that timely, on-brief delivery is realistic.
  • Having an understanding of copyright, usage rights and licensing, to inform estimates and navigating rights conversations / negotiations / client contracts.
  • An ability to fulfil admin processes as necessary, on time and in an organised manner.
  • A good understanding of the common file types and production methods (including 3D / CGI) commonly used within illustration.
  • A basic understanding of the animation process and workflow, to facilitate any illustration-led animation requests.
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with artists and clients alike.
  • An ability to hit defined metrics when it comes to new business: i.e. number & frequency of client meetings, with certain new business outreach activity levels
  • Portfolio led tasks to include Artist catch ups, feedback on direction, portfolio curation and updates.

Base salary will range between £30,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience. In addition to base salary, we operate a company-wide bonus scheme to jointly reward everyone’s contribution across the company.

This is permanent full-time role based in the UK. We will be continuing to encourage an in-studio minimum of two days per week, with the remainder to be remote work. All applicants must be legally entitled to work in the UK. As a company we are continually evolving and support our people to help fulfil the opportunities they want from their career.

This position will report to our Head of Artist Management and you will work closely alongside our Senior Illustration Project Manager, Founder & Sales Director, plus wider team across London and our other locations.

Start date negotiable, but this is an immediate opening. We are an equal opportunities employer. This means that we will make good faith efforts to comply with the spirit and letter of the equality laws.

We will promote a good and harmonious working environment in which our employees will be treated with dignity and respect, and we will not discriminate unlawfully against or harass any person on the grounds of - sex, pregnancy or maternity, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, religious or similar philosophical beliefs, political opinion, racial group, sexual orientation, disability or age.
