Job Description

SOCIO is looking for a motivated and creative mid-weight Designer to join our talented multi-disciplinary team. This is a great opportunity to be a part of our growing team and contribute your ideas and design craft to our projects.

You’ll work closely with our Design Directors and fellow designers to create brands, packaging, editorial pieces and digital experiences. We are looking for someone who is excited to jump into any stage of a project and explore creative ideas under the guidance of design leads.

Responsibilities

  • Generate your own conceptual design work in response to brief or collaborate on the roll-out existing brands
  • Translate established strategic principles into your design work, creating outcomes that are relevant for brief, audience and client
  • Collaborating with the team to deliver design work across concept creation, development for digital and social assets, and print-ready artwork
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously when needed, especially for the roll-out or delivery of final assets
  • Conduct research into visual trends, culture and codes to assist design work
  • Assist the creative lead to create presentations that communicate the strategic and creative vision behind the work
  • Create clear guidelines for new or existing brands
  • Ability to use Figma across concept work and for relevant artwork delivery
  • Strong typographic skills across custom type creation, brand expression, packaging and digital
  • Assist the design lead to ensure projects are running on time by managing your time day to day

Key requirements

  • 3+ years design experience
  • You are a team player, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn from others within your team
  • Flexible and adaptable to work between multiple projects simultaneously when needed
  • Writing and communication skills to articulate your own and the team’s work
  • Image curation, art direction and photographic skills is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills within the studio and when engaging with clients and creative collaborators
  • Experience with Figma is essential for design concept work, building presentations and working with design systems
  • Stay up to date with latest trends and like to experiment with new approaches
  • Software: Figma, Adobe CC, Notion
  • Bonus skills: Art direction experience, 3D or AI image generation, Digital Design, Type Design (Glyphs), After Effects animation, Editorial Design, Illustration

Details

  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Permanent position with a six-month probationary period
  • Hybrid working: 2 days in the studio, 3 days from home.
  • Our studio is based in London’s Design District located in North Greenwich. Design District offers a number of amenities including a cafe, food stalls and a basketball court
