STRATEGY TEAM OVERVIEW

The Strategy team at Not Actual Size are a group of listeners. We’re responsible for listening across client categories, keeping our colleagues and clients up to date on latest conversations and trends, and using that intelligence to fuel ideas with impact.

We work closely with Account and Creative teams to solve client problems, creating watertight strategies rooted in thorough research, relevant insights and audience understanding. We collaborate to develop ideas and ensure creative execution and output aligns with strategic direction. With an expert view on the brand objectives, comms goals, market/category dynamics, social mechanics and creative excellence, our team plays a critical role from start to finish.

YOUR ROLE

As a Strategist, you are deeply immersed in the cultural zeitgeist, trends and the shifting social landscape. Your rigorous research and attention to detail unearths critical consumer insights to form best-in-class creative briefs and spark impactful ideas. You develop detailed audience understanding, strategies and success frameworks in line with client needs, and use your expertise to spark movement across client and internal teams. You have a detailed understanding of digital channel best practices and confidently guide the team to ensure everything we create is grounded in insight and true to the strategy.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft intelligent strategies: for brand, campaign, channel or content, harnessing insights and data with compelling storytelling + actionable outputs
  • Creative briefing: Develop insightful and inspiring briefs for the creative team, establishing a sharp strategic direction + creative jumping off point
  • Collaboration + client consultancy: Comfortable working seamlessly with cross-functional teams and driving fruitful client conversations
  • Data analysis: Delve into business, competitor, social and category data, comfortable unpicking numbers and understanding their implications
  • Audience intelligence: Social listening to understand audience behaviours, motivations and needs, developing personas based on insight to inform strategy
  • Performance reporting: Create distinctive reports with exceptional attention to detail and an engaging narrative. Establish success frameworks, KPIs and reporting to optimise output
  • Social champion: Expert on socials, able to guide clients/creative to execute with impact depending on the channel
  • Research + listening: Conduct high-quality research, identifying appropriate methodology. Rigorous review of findings to identify themes, trends and insights, delivered with clarity

YOU’LL BRING…

  • 3-4 years experience working agency side, ideally working with global / mass brands
  • Confidence being lead strategist on an (or multiple) accounts
  • Experience working across integrated 360 brand/social campaigns, specifically on the social side of things, and ability to collaborate with agency + client teams and provide valued guidance and direction
  • Curiosity and desire to learn that leads you to unexpected places (rogue Reddit threads, etc) and sparks new ideas / connections
  • Empathy to put yourself in the shoes of brand consumers and understand their needs, motivations and what appeals to them
  • Solutions-led, proactive mindset to approach obstacles with openness and energy and identify opportunities to improve
