Motion Designer

We are looking for an experienced Motion Designer/Animator (mid or senior) to come in with new innovative and creative ideas! You will be leading on projects from day one for the likes of Tesla to The Royal Mint, in a variety of disciplines from 2D Motion Graphics, 3D CGI and character animation. You will be a driving force of inspiration to our wider team, helping others in your team to learn and grow as animators in their own right.

Rockadove is a full-service Video Production Agency in its 12th year of business, producing all forms of video content both filmed and animated in-house. From TV Commercials to social media campaigns. Based in Cardiff City Centre, we work with clients globally in a variety of sectors.

Our Motion Graphics and Animation offering has become a key service in our agency, which we look to continue to grow over the coming years. This role comes at an exciting time, with lots of opportunities in the future.

Responsibilities

You will be confident in interpreting clients briefs, asking the right questions and finding the best solutions.

• Developing visual directions through style frames

• Take scripts and turn them into visual storyboards

• Develop and pitch creative directions both internally to the team and externally to clients

• Produce beautiful animations, primarily using Adobe After Effects, C4D and Blender.

• Create VFX for filmed projects

• Be able to provide reasoning, written and verbal to describe your ideas and concept choices.

• A passionate contributor in brainstorms

• A true leader and inspiration to the wider team. Providing mentoring and support to help the team around you to grow.

• So experienced you are unphased by a challenging keyframe or effect, it is dealt with swiftly and taken in your stride!

The ideal candidate

Your experience speaks for itself, you’ve been there and done that. You are comfortable in picking up the most complex of briefs and delivering something special. Your knowledge is extensive, but still willing to grow. Simple projects can be done quickly and efficiently, almost with your eyes closed, but the challenging projects you thrive on getting stuck in and getting your head down!

Required skills

To be considered you will need the following:

• An excellent working knowledge of Adobe CC, in particular After Effects, photoshop and illustrator

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working for an Agency or Production Company in a similar role, or full-time freelance work.

• A strong portfolio of delivering Motion Graphic and Animated projects. The proof is in the pudding!

• Excellent 2D and 3D animation knowledge and workflow.

Extra desired skills

• Excellent knowledge of Cinema 4D or Blender

• 3D modelling and animation skills

• Character rigging and animation

• Video editing experience

• Sound design experience

• Ability to draw and illustrate

• Project Management experience

• Fluent Welsh speaker

What we are offering:

• 40 hours per week

• Salary to be agreed based on experienced (assuming:

Mid-weight - £23,000 - £27,000 per annum

Senior - £28,000-32,000 per annum
