Job Description

f.r.a. provide niche design services including wayfinding, placemaking and brand design. Our clients love us because we unlock the full potential of their projects and we’re fun to work with. We are growing. We’re looking for the right person to help with technical design. This position bridges between design and project management teams. You will need to be a dynamic individual committed to delivering excellent customer service whilst maintaining exceptionally high standards. The role involves national, and potentially international travel.

Responsibilities sit within the projects and design team, reporting to the Creative Director, duties include:

• Create design related project deliverables including 2D and 3D sign designs.

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and communicate closely with the project team. This includes signage location plans and message schedules.

• Tracking change management and updates to drawings, schedules, specifications and graphic artwork.

• Ensure each project is delivered on time, within scope, delivering on client satisfaction, quality control and financial performance.

• Liaising with project teams coordinating designs, manufacture and installation.

You’ll embrace the company culture, valuing our core principles: enthusiastic, collaborative, grounded, pragmatic and innovative. You’ll need to appreciate good design, be methodical and highly organised with demonstrable skills & experience, including:

• Understand 3D product design and 2D graphic layouts, an ability to draw, model and artwork are required.

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills that works well in a fast-paced environment in both an in-person and remote context.

• Ability to work effectively and manage numerous projects simultaneously.

• Maintain accurate records, filing, completing project administration and related tasks, ensuring efficient delivery.

• Technical understanding of signage, materials and finish specifications.

Qualifications

• Up to 5 years experience in industry. This is an entry/junior level role. Some prior knowledge of the industry is helpful but we will train the specific aspects of how things are done in the studio.

• Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) experience

• Ability to work in 3D modelling software (SketchUp, etc)

• CAD Software is a strong advantage

• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Experience of Microsoft Project, Merlin or equivalent scheduling software.

• Knowledge of cloud-based project management and collaboration tools.

• Degree in graphics design, product design, architecture, interiors or equivalent

Role & additional Info:

This is a full-time permanent role based in either our Shrewsbury or London studios. We work at least 3 days in-studio per week. This is not a remote role.
