Digital Product Designer
Job Description
You’re an experienced digital designer, comfortable with your tools, with solid design and UX skills. You are probably also very excited about all the new features announced at Figma Config 2023 and can't wait to get stuck in and use them on a daily basis to design best in class e-commerce experiences.
At SOON_ we design and build services, platforms and products for our customers and you’ll be working on projects for large well-known brands making key decisions on UX, UI, design.
As a new member of the team, and especially now when most of us are working remote, it’s important that you are proactive, have a strong work ethic with attention to detail and a passion for digital design.
What you will be doing
- User interface designs (experience with Figma is essential, Framer would be a big plus) – including components, patterns & interactive behaviour.
- You’ll be developing, improving and iterating on design systems (grids / interactive behaviours / visual style guides).
- Creating user experience design documents (wireframes, sitemaps, personas & user flows).
- Low & high fidelity prototypes at all stages (experience with Figma is essential, Framer would be a big plus).
- You must have experience putting together presentations to explain your designs internally or to clients.
- Moodboards and visual research collections.
- Help designing and facilitating workshops and design sprints.
Job requirements
- 3+ years experience in a digital agency, creative company, digital start-up or product team.
- You should possess excellent visual and user interface design skills along with the ability to come up with and deliver original ideas.
- Experience designing mobile-first responsive sites and products.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm to work in an iterative design process, motivated by group critique. You should expect to show and talk about your work regularly with the team.
- You will be required to talk through your ideas confidently with clients.
- Experience working collaboratively with developers and product managers on digital products in an agile way – we run regular 1–2 week sprints so you’ll need to be able to break down, plan and prioritise your work.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the wider team (Developers and Project Managers) throughout a project's duration
- Motion design or 3D experience would be a plus
The mindset we are looking for
- Love what you do; we really care about our clients and the work.
- Love to learn; learning new things is what motivates all of us and is why we love the Web.
- Be proactive; you get out what you put in.
- Show talent; make us feel like we’ll never be that good.
- Attention to detail; we worry, fret and polish till it’s right.
What you’ll get out of it
We’re a small company and a tight team - we work collaboratively, we share load, we have deep specialist experience but often blend roles.
We’re also a tech start-up — researching, prototyping and building our own products as part of our R&D process. You’ll be actively involved in this with opportunities to explore technologies you’re most interested in.
We want our staff to be as comfortable as possible so they can be as productive as possible. As such we leave where you work up to you.
- If you prefer to work fully remote, that’s fine. We’re ‘remote-by-default’ so all our systems and processes are 100% designed for this.
- If you enjoy the company of other humans or it’s difficult for you to work from home, then we have a lovely, 24-hour accessible, dedicated premises both in London Bridge and Nottingham.
- In reality, most of us mix and match - a few days in the office, a few days at home. It’s up to you.
- You must however have the right to work in the UK.
