We approach design with an open mind and a collaborative spirit. We address complex planning challenges and have a track record of successfully developing proposals in sensitive heritage contexts. We believe in evaluating every potential solution carefully, working alongside clients, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve imaginative yet practical results. Our creativity is grounded in thorough research, guided by logic, and shaped by economic sensibility.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Researcher and Writer to join our dynamic team in Clerkenwell.

From conducting historical research to crafting compelling narratives, you will play a crucial role in articulating the stories behind our projects.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in architecture and art, along with a talent for storytelling that makes architectural content accessible and captivating to diverse audiences.

You will be expected to produce high-quality written material for a variety of purposes that includes proposals, presentations, award submissions, articles, and publications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research into the history, context, and significance of the sites we work with, including architectural heritage, cultural influences, and local history

• Craft clear, engaging and accessible narratives that make our projects stand out – from architectural reports and proposals to web copy, project descriptions, award submissions, exhibition materials, and publications

• Support in preparing bid documents, design and access statements, marketing material and client presentations

• Handle administrative tasks related to marketing and new business activity

• Collaborate with teams internally to ensure narratives align with marketing strategies with company objectives

• Coordinate written content and visual collateral with the Head of Graphic Design where necessary

About you

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in art history, architectural theory, curation, creative writing or similar

• Proven experience as a researcher and writer, and knowledgeable about architecture, urban design and art/design

• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style based on the project and audience

• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills; able to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign and Photoshop), social media platforms, website CMS, and email marketing services preferred

• Permission to live and work in the UK
