Shoryu Ramen launched in November 2012 and has been recommended in the Michelin Guide 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Shoryu Ramen specialises in Hakata tonkotsu ramen from the Hakata district of Fukuoka city on the southern island of Kyushu, Japan. Hakata tonkotsu ramen is a style of ramen made with a thick, rich, white pork soup and thin, straight ramen noodles. Our Hakata tonkotsu ramen recipe has been specially created by our Executive Chef Kanji Furukawa who was born and raised in Hakata, to provide the UK with highly crafted, genuine tonkotsu rarely found outside Japan. Shoryu's owner Tak Tokumine is also a native of Fukuoka city and along with Kanji is dedicated to championing his hometown’s local speciality.

Location: Cover sites across London, Manchester and Oxford.

Working Hours: Full Time, Permanent. The hours are typically between 9am - 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Pay: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE

Job Purpose: To lead and manage the marketing strategy and execution for SHORYU, driving brand awareness, customer engagement, and business growth.

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and enthusiastic Marketing Manager to join our team. Managing the marketing for the brand in-house. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Japanese food and culture and able to develop and present new marketing propositions, working closely with the Director to shape the marketing approach for the group.

Summary of some key responsibilities:

Own, create and deliver a multi-channel marketing strategy for the brand including acquisition, conversion, retention and reactivation

Maximise press coverage, brand awareness and sales

Plan and manage the budgets with focus on ROI for social media, press, marketing, digital marketing (Email marketing, Paid search, Affiliates, SEO, CRM), event marketing, booking marketing, 3rd party marketing and franchise marketing

Spot and develop opportunities for the brand via collaborations, trends and the general marketing approach

Plan, manage and schedule social media content and newsletters, create content by yourself, with the designers or with 3rd parties

Plan and manage advertising, building long-term relationships with external agencies and collaborating with the designers for creatives within agreed time scales

Present to Directors: Project plans, forecasts reports, campaign performance stats and impact on commercial targets

Implement a dynamic plan to drive the loyalty of the customers, driving loyalty through relevant innovative approaches as required

Conduct quarterly competitor research and analysis and present to key stakeholders

Record and manage customer enquiries and complaints via email or social, escalating to the internal team and replying to the customer within the reply window

What we are looking for:

Excellent creative flair with the ability to predict forthcoming moods, trends, themes

Creative thinker with the ability to develop the full potential from projects and to take advantage of new developments in a timely manner

Experience of working with data, from analytics to customer profiling

Strong team player and manager - able to gain trust, buy-in, respect and confidence quickly and effectively with excellent interpersonal skills

Proven ability to negotiate and push performance of external as well as internal teams Costs

Responsible for management and control of the Marketing budget, agreeing creative targets with senior leadership

Manage the costs and direction of external creative agencies when and if necessary, to align with forecast spend limits People

Provide a positive management style and support to the wider team

Provide necessary planning and communication skills to ensure the timely delivery of set goals

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Experience in a B2C retail & hospitality setting

Digital marketing experience including social media, PPC, Affiliates, SEO and Email Marketing

Interest in Japanese food and culture

Above all you must demonstrate your commercial know-how and ability to add tangible differences to a business such as ours

Desirable skills:

Japanese language skills a bonus

Videographer and editing skills
