Job Description

The Creative Graphic Designer will assist in creating visual concepts, renderings of products, consumer packaging, marketing collateral, infographics, catalogs, web graphics, online and print advertising as well as in store displays. We are looking for a candidate that has demonstrated superior production capabilities and that can provide creative input and design to our marketing & product development team.

The ideal candidate should be ambitious and entrepreneurial. They should contribute to a positive culture and have outstanding team-building skills. This role is hybrid (on-site/remote).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet with other team members to establish a vision for a product or design

• Render products in Photoshop and Illustrator that are often not available to photograph

• Layout art with an understanding of factory provided dielines

• Identify design errors and make necessary adjustments and fixes prior to delivering final assets

• Complete projects by coordinating with outside factories, printers, etc.

• Follow customer guidelines and brand style guides precisely

• Keep up with competitors and market trends

• Communicate project needs and timelines via email and Monday.com

• Switch between multiple projects on any given day with the teams’ changing priorities

• Proof factory art/print proofs for errors and correct slug information

• Render high quality images for sales decks

Essential Skills & Characteristics:

• 3+ years of experience in a graphic design role (in beauty a plus)

• High School Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs on a Mac platform

• Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

• Problem solver with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team while managing multiple graphic design projects simultaneously

• Excellent eye for color and typography

• Handle rejection and criticism of designs with grace

• Strong portfolio that demonstrates design skills (retail packaging experience a plus)

• Attention to detail is a must

• Acute understanding of dielines and packaging specifications (printer knowledge a plus)

• Ability to create high quality renderings (both vector and raster images) of products for sales decks and factory product development

• Light copy writing skills is a plus

• Ability to work quickly under pressure and thrive in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment

• A team player possessing strong interpersonal skills with an ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management

• Organized, positive, and high-energy individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to execute with high attention to detail

• Sense of urgency, persistence, and determination, yet flexible and open to internal and external feedback on products being developed

• Understands the importance of timelines and meeting deadlines

• Experience working with a Chinese factory and printer

• Solid computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint & MS Outlook, Monday.com and Canva experience a plus

• A Collaborative team player with the confidence to take the lead, when appropriate

• Enthusiasm for the beauty industry and its products, marketing, advertising, and popular culture trends. Strong desire to provide the best product possible

• Experience working in smaller, high-growth companies is a plus

• Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
