Job Description
We are looking for a design-focused, super talented motion designer to join our team. The individual must have proven experience with motion design and animation, an extremely well-trained eye for design, real enthusiasm for the work, and a brilliant showreel to prove it.
This is predominantly a hands-on creative role with a client-facing edge to it, meaning the right candidate will also be comfortable joining pitches, explaining their ideas, and helping the team to win projects with exciting creative ideas and executions. We’re looking for a quick-thinking, passionate individual who is happiest when they’ve solving creative problems to put out work that will turn heads.
The role would be particularly suitable for someone who enjoys some variation in their life. While motion design definitely comes first, we’re a small team and there are opportunities to muck in with a wide variety of tasks, from business development brainstorming to marketing and pitch creation.
The most important deciding factor for this position is the quality of the work. Whether that's heaps of raw talent gained in just a few years... or a wealth of knowledge and skills gained over a long time in the industry: we want to hear from you.
The Role and Responsibilities
- Create style frames and storyboard ideas to set the style of a project
- Create high quality designs and illustrations ready for animation
- Craft smooth flowing animated sequences
- Put forward ideas for projects and pitches to assist the Creative Director in answering briefs and win projects
- Research inspiration and collect references to assist with early creative development
- Stay on top of trends and new techniques to bring fresh and current suggestions to the table
- Be prepared to learn new skills to further enhance the business options and client experiences
- Create content for multiple platforms to meet the scope of different briefs
- Take ownership of deadlines, communicating with the team as necessary
- Contribute and participate in experimental projects
