Freelance Packaging Designer (Beauty)
Job Description
Peas are thrilled to be teamed with a Global Beauty brand known for their high quality products and clean design style. Following a succesful 2024 they are expanding their team and seeking a skilled Packaging Designer to join their London based studio for an ongoing booking.
Experience needed; hi-end luxury beauty product and packaging experience.
The role:
- Design and develop new makeup or fragrance product lines
- Design and develop packaging and print collateral
- Liaise with modelmakers on prototypes
- Oversee artwork for both in-house and external production
- Oversee campaign guidelines
- Manage and lead a small team of graphic designers and artworkers
- Lead the beauty team in researching, designing and developing concepts across multiple projects
- Understand and help develop beauty strategy
- Present work for approvals and discussions
- Partner with parallel teams in-house
- Receive, review and approve licensee and third-party prototypes
- Work with licensee on product feasibility
- Make informed technical recommendations to designers, licensee and third party agencies
- Passing print and / or product off-site
About you:
- Experience within the luxury and/or beauty/fashion sector
- Deep understanding and experience of product processes, from prototyping to industrial production
- A developed understanding in relevant materials and finishes
- Proactive in identifying issues, exploring and proposing innovative solutions
- Be well informed and aware of current fashion and trends, always bringing fresh ideas
- Be self-motivated and highly organised to deliver consistently against agreed deadlines
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
