Midweight Publications Designer

The Studio

Independently owned creative agency are seeking a publications designer to join their publications team. Mid-sized creative studio in central London, hybrid working and a great team and culture.

The Opportunity

We are looking for someone who loves print layout design work for internal comms and editorial work to join this growing team. You will be passionate about all aspects of print, publishing and design in general bringing flair and a keen eye for detail to a range of projects. These projects could range from anything from internal client manuals/reports and handbooks through to consumer facing event programs.

This role would suit a middleweight designer able to handle their projects from conception and development through artworking to print. You will be confident talking to clients and dealing directly with printers delivering high-quality publications and magazines that catch the eye.

The Ideal Candidate

- A minimum of 3+ years of commercial experience working across print publications. Experience working across a range of print formats.

- Fully capable in Creative Suite, particularly InDesign.

- Good conceptual thinking, plenty of ideas, and a high level of craft

- A thorough understanding of grids, style sheets, and the preparation for the print process.

- A keen eye for typography, a love of typesetting and editorial design

- Meticulous attention to detail, thorough art-working skills and impeccable housekeeping are all a must.

- Interest and experience in digital publishing.

- Good verbal and written communication skills
